South American Adventure 2016 is ending today!

SOUTH AMERICAN ADVENTURE 2016 is ending today! After 30 days traveling through the south of Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru, students are returning home! This trip was a big adventure and challenge for sure and we would like to thank all students, parents, host parents, Officers and Chairmen for all the support, as well as our Coordination, Chaperones, bus drivers, guides and suppliers for all the hard work! Thank you all and see you in 10 days at Amazon! Let's go?!

AVENTURA SUL-AMERICANA 2016 termina hoje! Após 30 dias viajando pelo sul do Brasil, Argentina, Chile e Peru, os intercambistas estão voltando para casa! Essa viagem foi uma grande aventura e com certeza um desafio, por isso gostaríamos de agradecer todos os intercambistas, pais, pais anfitriões, Oficias de Intercâmbio e Chairmen pelo apoio, como também nossa Coordenação, Chaperones, motoristas, guias e fornecedores por todo o trabalho duro! Obrigado a todos e nos vemos daqui a 10 dias na Amazônia! Vamos?!

#MachuPicchu!

We finally have arrived at Machu Picchu!

The group arrived at Aguas Calientes by train yesterday night. After a nice overnight, we all woke up early and went up to the ruins of Machu Picchu to watch the beautiful sunrise!

After one day of new discoveries about the Inca civilization and many photos, we went down! Ahed this afternoon, termal baths at the Thermal Pools of Aguas Calientes!

Tomorrow it's the start of our return to Cusco and return home! Keep tuned!

Finalmente chegamos a Machu Picchu!

O grupo chegou a Aguas Calientes de trem ontem à noite. Após uma confortável pernoite, todos acordaram cedo para se dirigir às ruínas de Machu Picchu para ver o belo nascer do sol!

Após um dia de um novas descobertas sobre a civilização Inca e muitas fotos, todos descemos! Ainda nessa tarde, teremos os banhos termais nas piscinas termais de Aguas Calientes!

Amanhã começa o retorno da viagem de Cusco para casa! Fiquem ligados!

 

Going to Machu Picchu!

South American Adventure is still on! After some amazing days at Atacama desert, the group crossed the border to Peru, visiting the historical city of Cusco.

We're now taking a train to the city of Aguas Calientes for an overnight! Tomorrow, early morning, we go up to Machu Picchu ruins to watch a beautiful sunset and discovers the mysteries and stories of the Inca empire!

Santiago!

We spent the day on the road between Mendoza and Santiago, this path is beautiful and goes through the Andes! It was amazing! All were amazed with so many wonderful scenery.
On the way we stopped at a Inca bridge, is actually a bathhouse that was built for this amazing civilization. Our other stop was at a place where we could enjoy the view of Aconcagua!
The border between Argentina and Chile is very demanding but we passed without problems and finally arrived in Chile! Ron’s homeland (World's Best Coordinator!); he is very excited and we are all happy for him (the problem is that now he doesn’t stop talking, hahaha ....)!
In Chile we stopped at a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. After arriving in Santiago we went to a shopping to have dinner and then we arrived at our hotel which is actually a really nice hostel. We are excited for tomorrow and to know better Santiago!

Passamos o dia percorrendo o caminho entre Mendoza e Santiago; este caminho é lindo e passa pelos Andes! Foi incrível! Todos ficamos maravilhados com tantas paisagens lindas.
No caminho paramos em uma ponte Inca, na verdade é uma casa de banhos que foi construída por esta incrível civilização. Nossa outra parada foi em um local onde pudemos apreciar o Aconcágua!
A fronteira entre a Argentina e o Chile é bem exigente porém passamos sem problemas e enfim chegamos ao Chile! Terra natal do Ron (melhor Coordenador do mundo!); ele está muito emocionado e estamos todos felizes por ele (o problema é que agora ele não fica quieto, hahaha....)!
Já no Chile paramos em um lindo lago cercado pelas montanhas. Após chegar em Santiago fomos a um shopping jantar e em seguida chegamos em nosso hotel que é na verdade um albergue (hostel)muito legal. Estamos animados para o dia de amanhã e para conhecer melhor Santiago!

Mendoza!

Hey Everyone!

 

Yesterday, after a strenuous day of travel, we arrived in the Mendoza province and its capital of the same name. The region is most known for its famous Malbec wines, and though we weren´t able to try even a bit, one can see the importance of the beverage to the city.
We spent today sightseeing the town in the bus, disembarking with our guide to see the Jesuit ruins. From there, we went to the center where we had free time to eat lunch in the restuarants surrounding the Plaza de la Independencia. The area is a mix of tourist shops and cafes full of both foreigners and locals.
We met up after lunch to go to the Parque General San Martin, where we decided to take a hike. The hike, strenuous for some, took us to the top of the hill giving panoramic views of the city. At the summit, there was a monument depicting General San Martin leading an army on an equally strenuous trek across the Andes.
Upon return, we went to the supermarket where we stocked up for the next strenuous journey. Tomorrow, we wake up to go to Chile, the native country of our beloved Coordinator, Ron! We anxiously await the next chapter of our trip.

Hola a Todos!

Ayer llegamos a la provincia de Mendoza y su capital del mismo nombre despues un dia muy largo de viaje. La region es mas conocida por el famoso vino Malbec, y aunque no pudimos probar ni una copita, se nota la importancia de la bebida a la ciudad.
Hoy pasamos el dia recorriendo el pueblo en colectivo y de pie. Bajamos al lado de las ruinas jesuiticas y nuestra guia nos explico la historia de la iglesia destruida. De alli, nos fuimos al centro donde teniamos tiempo libre para almorzar en los restaurantes alrededor de la Plaza de la Independencia. La zona es una mezcla de tiendas turisticas y cafes llenos de extranjeros tanto como Mendocinos.
Nos reunimos despues de almuerzo para ir a el Parque General San Martin. Subimos un cerro dedicado al general. Encima del cerro, habia un monumento mostrando el ejercito argentino encargado por San Martin traversando los Andes.
Despues de bajar el cerro, nos fuimos al super para comprar comida para el proximo viaje largo. Manana, nos despertamos temprano para ir a Chile, el pais nativo de nuestro querido Coordinador Ron! Esperamos ansiosamente el siguente capitulo de nuestro viaje.
